At 14 years old, Marko Volf has already begun to make his mark in Adidas NextGen Tournament. The Croatian prospect impressed with his maturity and confidence on the court during three days in Munich. For a 14-year-old kid; he has a strong size standing at 6-foot-2 (188cm). Following in his older brother Ivan's footsteps, Marko is establishing himself in German basketball. - Ata Toprak Koşal

Offense
· Excels on drives and cuts. Slashes to the rim, finishes it well. It’s really hard to stop him when gets his momentum through the rim. Using his body well also. Really balanced and strong when he finishes around the rim. Controls the ball, can change his direction on air. Therefore, Volf struggled against contacts around the rim at Adidas NextGen Tournament last week, but that’s understandable considering he’s 3 years younger than tournament’s generation.
· Struggles to finish with left hand, especially against contacts. NOT a usual way to finish from the left side of the rim for him. Generally navigates his defender to his left and finish with right hand using his left shoulder against defender.
· Good shooter. Made 42,1% (8/19) behind the arc at U14 Sloball 2024 on August 2024. In addition to, he had a superb tournament in Munich and made 53.3% behind the arc with 3,75 attempts per game. Has a good pull up, can make quick pull up shots right after PnR’s.
· Finds open looks, dishes out assists to cuts, rollers or from kick outs. Averaged 3,8 assists in 8 games in the JBBL this season (Total 31).
· Operates PnR’s and mostly plays as a playmaker on the court. Takes decisions and the responsibility for his team when shot clock running out or at the crunch times.
· Runs the floor well, can adapt to high pace and brings energy to the both ends of the court. Leaks out in transitions, can take quick decisions and finds open looks in transitions as well.
· Good footwork, creates open spots for himself in tight places with some quick reverses, pump fakes or using his shoulder.
· Grabs offensive rebounds thanks to his size and positioning; averaged 1.0 Off Reb. per game in Sloball 2024 in 5 games, 0.8 per game in JBBL 2024-25 season in 8 games.
Overall Offense: Dangerous on drives, slashes to the rim and finishes it strong. Passes well, has a promising playmaking abilities. Still has a lot of rooms to improve on shooting, not tends to shoot much, he makes the difference between with his size among the players at his age and probably take the easy way out by scoring inside.
Defense
· It’s tough to get past by offensive on 1 on 1 defense. His size leads him to be a good defender and he can’t even be punished easily by more sized players.
· Using his chest and hip well in contacts, that leads him to be a good rebounder in the paint despite his height. Grabs bunch of long rebounds. (Averaged 5.0 rebounds per game in Sloball 2024, 6.1 in JBBL 2024-25)
· Has quick hands, can put high pressure to opponent’s ball-handler and steal bunch of balls. Also good at anticipating passes and cuts opponent’s passes. (Averaged 4.4 steals per game in Sloball 2024)
Overall Defense: Pretty tough, utilizing his size well. Steals bunch of balls, anticipating passes well. Good positioning, high awareness on the defensive end.
Projection
Marko Volf has the potential to carve out a spot in the rotation of a EuroLeague or EuroCup team within 3-4 years, thanks to his promising skill set and confidence. Therefore, it's still too early to discuss NBA opportunities, as his chances will largely hinge on his physical development over time. With the right progress, he could emerge as a second-round draft candidate, following a path similar to that of Juan Núñez.
